Enugu Life Terms of Service
Version: 2026-10-07
These terms are the agreement between you and us for playing Enugu Life. Please read them. If you do not agree, do not create an account. Our Privacy Notice explains what we do with your personal data and is part of these terms.
1. Who we are
Enugu Life is run by [PLACEHOLDER: operator legal name] ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [PLACEHOLDER: contact email]. Our postal address is [PLACEHOLDER: postal address].
2. This is a test
Enugu Life is in early testing. Things will break. We may change, pause or reset the game at any time, and a reset can wipe characters, money, items, homes and chat. We will try to warn you first, but we cannot promise to. Do not play expecting your progress to last.
3. You must be 18 or older
- Enugu Life is only for adults aged 18 or over. It has adult themes of everyday life, strangers you can talk to by text and voice, and in-game dating.
- When you sign up we ask for your date of birth. If you are under 18 we refuse the sign-up and keep nothing you typed.
- If we later find out that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete its data.
- Lying about your age breaks these terms. We may ask you to verify your age later, for example before you can use voice chat.
4. Your account
- One account per person, with one character.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Do not share, sell, buy, rent or give away accounts.
- Tell us at [PLACEHOLDER: contact email] if you think someone else is using your account.
5. The in-game Naira has no real-money value
The money in Enugu Life is called Naira (₦), but it is game money only. It is not real Naira and it is not money.
- In-game ₦, items, homes and characters have no real-money value.
- They cannot be cashed out, redeemed, withdrawn or exchanged for real money, goods or services, inside or outside the game.
- We never sell in-game ₦, and we never buy it back.
- Do not sell or buy in-game ₦, items or accounts for real money with other players or anyone else ("real-money trading"). It is banned. We may close accounts that do it. We cannot protect you if you pay someone outside the game.
- What you have in the game is a limited permission to use it in the game. It is not your property.
- We may correct balances and items that came from a bug, a mistake, cheating or fraud. Every transfer is recorded, so we can trace and reverse transfers by hand.
- The in-game bank (Coal City Thrift & Gist Bank, and its OkpaPay app) is fictional. It will never ask for your real bank details. Anyone who asks for real money or real bank details in the game is probably a scammer: report them.
Nothing in the game is sold for real money during this test. If that changes, we will add purchase and refund terms first and ask you to accept them.
6. Talking to other players
Enugu Life lets you talk to people you do not know.
- Speech bubbles: what you type in the street is shown to players near your character.
- Chat app: your area has a group chat, and you can send direct messages (DMs) to other players by their @username or in-game phone number.
- Proximity voice chat: if you join voice, players near your character can hear you, and you can hear them. Voice is optional and uses your microphone only after you allow it. We do not record voice chat.
The same rules apply in all of them.
7. Rules of the game
Do not:
- harass, bully, threaten or stalk anyone, in or out of the game;
- post hate speech, or attack people for their tribe, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or where they come from;
- share sexual content involving anyone under 18, ever. We report this to the authorities;
- post explicit sexual content, or pressure anyone into sexual talk;
- share anyone's personal information (their real name, phone number, address, photos) without their permission;
- scam people, ask for real money, or ask for real bank, card or account details;
- pretend to be someone else, including us or a moderator;
- record other players' voices or redistribute what they said without their permission;
- cheat, use bots, exploit bugs, or attack or overload our servers;
- break Nigerian law, or the law where you live.
Every relationship between players in the game, from dating to marriage, needs both players to agree. Either player can block or leave at any time.
8. Reports, blocks and moderation
- You can block any player. Blocking hides them from you in chat and voice, and hides you from them. They are not told.
- You can report a player. A report tells us who reported whom, when, and why. Do not file false reports.
- An automatic filter checks text before other players see it. It hides some words and stops some messages.
- We may warn, mute, suspend or ban an account, or remove what it posted, if we think it broke these rules. Serious cases may be reported to the police or other authorities.
- If you think we got it wrong, write to [PLACEHOLDER: contact email] within 30 days. A person, not a machine, will look at it.
9. What you post
You keep any rights you have in what you write. You give us permission to store it, show it to the players it was meant for, and use it to run and moderate the game. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
10. Leaving
- You can stop playing at any time.
- You can delete your account in the game: Phone, then Settings, then Delete my account. We then remove or anonymise your personal data as the Privacy Notice explains. This cannot be undone.
- We may close your account if you break these terms, or when the test ends.
11. No promises
We provide the game "as is" during this test, with no promise that it will be available, error-free or kept forever. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losing game progress, game money or items, or for what other players say or do. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Nigerian consumer law, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. If the change matters, we will update the version above and ask you to accept the new terms the next time you sign in. If you do not accept, do not keep playing, and you can delete your account.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, please write to us first at [PLACEHOLDER: contact email] and we will try to sort it out. If we cannot, disputes go to the courts of [PLACEHOLDER: Enugu State or Lagos State, to be chosen with a lawyer]. You can also complain to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
